Children’s Health

Caring for your little ones from their very first visit.

From newborns through to teenagers, our GPs love looking after kids. We know that when your child is unwell, you want answers quickly and a doctor who takes both you and your child seriously. Our team across Gisborne and Woodend is experienced in all aspects of children's health and provides a welcoming environment where kids feel comfortable and parents feel supported.

What to Expect

We know coming to the doctor can feel daunting for little ones. Our team does everything they can to make the experience as calm and comfortable as possible. If your child is nervous, let us know when you book and we will do what we can to help.

When you arrive, our reception team will check you in and make sure your child is registered in our system. Your GP will take the time to talk with both you and your child, explain what they are doing and answer your questions clearly. If anything needs following up, your GP will walk you through the next steps before you leave.

For immunisation appointments, our nursing team will talk you through what your child is receiving, what to expect afterwards and how to manage any mild reactions at home.

If your child is sick, please call our clinic if unable to book online and we will always do our best to see them.

How We Help

  • Colds, ear infections, fevers, rashes, tummy bugs — the everyday stuff that comes with having kids. Our GPs can assess what is going on, provide treatment where needed and give you clear guidance on what to watch for at home.

  • Keeping up with your child's immunisation schedule is one of the most important things you can do for their health. Our GPs and nursing team administer vaccinations in line with the National Immunisation Program and can answer any questions you have about what your child needs and when.

  • If you have concerns about your child's growth, development, speech, behaviour or milestones, our GPs can assess how things are tracking and refer on to a specialist if needed. Early support makes a real difference, and it is always worth raising a concern rather than waiting.

  • Conditions like asthma, eczema, allergies and diabetes require ongoing management that adapts as your child grows. Our GPs can provide continuity of care and work with you to keep your child's condition well managed through every stage of their development.

  • Children and teenagers experience mental health challenges too. Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, low mood, school stress or behavioural changes, our GPs provide a safe and non-judgmental space to talk things through and work out the right support.

  • Our GPs can complete health assessments and medical certificates required for school enrolment, sport participation and other activities.
