Dr Simon Watson graduated from the University of Notre Dame Australia in 2019 and went on to gain broad clinical experience at the Northern Hospital across paediatrics, obstetrics, general medicine and emergency before finding his home in general practice. Most recently he has been practicing in Romsey and Lancefield, so he arrives at Neal Street Medical Centre already well known to many patients across the Macedon Ranges community.

One of Simon's most distinctive qualities is his background as a former Australian Defence Force member and healthcare professional, including overseas operational deployments. That experience gives him a genuine and personal understanding of veterans' health and wellbeing that goes well beyond textbook knowledge, and makes him a particularly trusted choice for veterans and their families seeking a GP who truly gets it.

Beyond veterans' health, Simon has strong interests in chronic disease management and prevention, children's health and men's health, and brings a thoughtful and thorough approach to everything he does.

Outside of work Simon lives with his wife and two children, fuels his days with a strong coffee and tends to a garden that is apparently always a work in progress. He is also a devoted Richmond Tigers supporter, particularly committed during the cooler months when it matters most.

Simon works at the Gisborne and Woodend clinics.
