Dr Umair Masood is the founding partner of Neal Street Medical Centre, having established the Gisborne clinic in 2015. With experience across both Australia and the UK, and a background spanning plastic surgery and orthopaedic surgery training, he brings a depth of procedural expertise to his GP work that genuinely benefits his patients.

Umair particularly values the continuity that general practice offers. He has been looking after families in the Macedon Ranges for many years, watching kids grow up, managing long-term conditions and being the kind of GP people come back to. Getting to know patients properly over time is something he considers central to good medicine.

Skin cancer is one of Umair's key clinical focuses. He is experienced in skin cancer diagnosis and management and offers comprehensive mole mapping using the Canfield IntelliStudio, one of the most advanced total body imaging systems available anywhere in the world, right here at the Gisborne clinic. He also provides cosmetic injectable treatments and brings his surgical background to his management of musculoskeletal injuries and fracture care. Umair is a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner, conducting CASA-approved aviation medicals for pilots at the clinic.

Beyond his clinical work, Umair is a GP Supervisor for registrars training in the region and supervises medical students from Melbourne and Monash Universities at the clinic. He also works as a Lecturer at Monash University, reflecting a long-standing commitment to the next generation of GPs.

Outside of work, Umair is a keen cricketer and golfer, enjoys scuba diving and is a proud Richmond supporter. He works at the Gisborne clinic five days a week.
