Dr Winnie Sim is not your typical GP. Before medicine, she completed a PhD in paediatric inflammatory bowel disease and postdoctoral research on the gut microbiota, giving her a depth of scientific understanding that informs her clinical work in ways that quietly benefit every patient she sees. She completed her medical degree at the University of Melbourne through the St Vincent's Clinical School, working across the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Women's Hospital, Sunshine Hospital and Kyneton before joining Neal Street Medical Centre.

Winnie has a particular passion for women's health and children's health, and has invested significantly in her training in both areas. She holds the Certificate of Women's Health and the Sydney Child Health Program, and provides pre-pregnancy counselling, antenatal and postnatal care, newborn checks and Mirena insertions. She is also certified in Implanon insertions and removals.

Her interest in skin health is equally thorough. Winnie holds a Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine and performs comprehensive skin checks and skin excisions at the clinic.

Outside of work she loves spending time with her young children and exploring different cultures through food, language and travel.

Winnie works at the Gisborne clinic.
